Double Degree (DD) - Basic information

To obtain a Double Diploma (or Double Degree) means to get at the end of study 2 full degrees from accredited schools, one of the Czech and one of French university. Compared to the Joint Degree, there is the advantage that you can prove your studies by two full diplomas recognized in the Czech Republic and in France, which can't be questioned.

And how does this study system work?

Czech student studies first 2 years of Mechanical Engineering (of general character, no specialisation), then after his selection, he spends the final year of bachelor's degree in France, while communicating with Czech teachers in order to complete his thesis (in Czech).

The following year (the first year of master's program) he returns to the Czech Republic to study Manufacturing Technology. This year, the classes are in English. And for the last year of studies, he goes back to France, where he completes a thesis in English or in French, during the internship in a French company (or Czech company).

On the other hand, French student spends two years in the preparatory classes (Classes préparatoires), which partly serves as an extended admission process. If the student is successful, it is a guarantee of quality. Then he writes the entrance examination, and then began his three-year study program. The first and final year of study is spent at their mother school in Cluny, in the second year students go studying abroad. If student is successful, he will obtain a Master's degree in Engineering.
